The Internet has Answers to EVERYTHING!

In this day and age, we can figure out pretty much anything with the touch of a button…except for answers to the two questions I actually am so anxious for I can’t even stand it: Am I pregnant? and When will I go into labor?
When Elisa was a year old, hubby and I decided to start trying for #2, but since I was still breastfeeding, I hadn’t gotten my cycle back and therefore, was without the most glaringly obvious symptom of pregnancy. I ended up taking weekly tests and did get pregnant pretty quickly, but in the meantime, I remember being on constant watch for signs from my body that I was expecting. Now, I’m one week from my due date and since Elisa was a few days early, and I had clear signs of labor a few days before she arrived, I’m on constant baby watch. I’ve decided to put together a fool proof list of signs of either pregnancy or labor and helpfully, they’re basically the same…
  • Exhaustion
  • Excess energy
  • Restless sleep
  • Deep sleep
  • Hunger
  • Lack of appetite
  • Not liking or wanting certain foods
  • Craving certain foods
  • Cramps
  • Regularity
  • Irregularity
  • Acne
  • Clear skin
  • Thirst
  • Headache
  • Headache goes away
  • Crankiness
  • Sore breasts
  • Sore hips
  • Sore back
  • Swollen feet/hands
  • Elisa acts cranky
  • Elisa doesn’t want to sleep
  • Elisa wants to nurse more often than usual
  • This inner monologue: Am I nauseous? Yes, I feel nauseous. No wait, that’s hungry…or maybe not? Do I need to throw up? Maybe I should just try, but if I try does that count as nausea? No, I’m definitely not nauseous, but I think I was yesterday. I probably was yesterday.
  • Clumsiness
  • Forgetfulness
  • Confusion
  • Frequent need to go to the bathroom
  • Bloating
I hope this helps someone. It’s been really helpful for me because right now, I’m definitely either in labor…or not.
